GAMES

[Under Construction]

*Note. This isn't a full list of every game I own or have completed. As of right now, it's a list of games registered on my consoles, meaning ones I've downloaded or inserted the cartridge for very recently. I own a lot of physical games, but not all of them are technically mine (it's a family collection). I also haven't fully played every game here, thanks to my massive backlog, but I didn't want to exclude any more than I already have. Who knows, maybe this will finally motivate me to play them all.

*All images of consoles are from my own collection.

Nintendo 3DS front Nintendo 3DS back

  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons
    Genre: Simulation, Casual, Social

My playtime on this game is heavily disproportionate to my opinion of this game. I put about 300 hours into ACNH (my current most played game) because it was quarantine and the rest of my family was addicted, but I honestly prefer New Leaf, and most games. I wish I could edit playtime data sometimes because of this game. It was cute, though; I liked making clothing and pride flags.

  • Aviary Attorney: Definitive Edition
Genre: Visual Novel, Historial Fiction, Mystery, Indie

A cute Ace Attorney-esque game with an anthro cast. It's also a very french game. +10 points for the Blackjack mini-game.

  • Bastion
    Genre: Action-RPG, Roguelike, Narrative

  • Big Brain Academy: Brain Vs. Brain
    Genre: Puzzle, Educational, Party

I'm a nerd who enjoys brain games, sue me. Although, this game is the only way I can convince my gen-alpha cousin to do math, so it was a worthwhile purchase.

  • Borderlands 2: Game Of The Year Edition
    Genre: Action-RPG, FPS, Looter Shooter

I love this game so much; single-player shooters are the only shooters I can enjoy, and this is my favorite one. The dialogue is irrelevant and the guns look sick as hell.

  • Borderlands 3: Ultimate Edition
    Genre: Action-RPG, FPS, Looter Shooter

I don't like this one as much as Borderlands 2 for some weird reason, but it's still Borderlands and Borderlands is Borderlands.

  • Cattails
    Genre: Simulation, RPG, Survival, Indie

I played this one for a little while but thought it was kinda simple and therefore dropped it pretty quickly. I want to check out the sequel Wildwood Story, though.

  • Celeste
    Genre: Precision Platformer, Indie, Adventure

Absolutely beautiful game with beautiful story and challenging platforming that may or may not have made me cry due to its stunning portrayal of mental illness. Play this game.

  • Cult Of The Lamb
    Genre: Roguelike, Simulation, Action

I love this silly little game where you make a wholesome little cult and sacrifice its members to The One Who Waits. Yes, this game is very wild, but I honestly find it strangely cozy and love the occult elements. The action segments are super fun and rewarding as well.

  • Cuphead
    Genre: Run-and-Gun, Indie, Boss Rush

I might not be the epic gamer that I thought it was because I could never finish Cuphead. This game angers me (it's a good game, though, I'm just clearly not enough of an epic gamer).

  • Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
Genre: Visual Novel, Mystery, Psychological Thriller, J-Horror

I was obsessed with Danganronpa in middle school and that is not okay. I'm pretty sure the Danganronpa franchise only contributed to my insanity. That being said, I liked the story.

  • Danganronpa V3
Genre: Visual Novel, Mystery, Psychological Thriller, J-Horror

My favorite game in the Danganronpa series, I love the V3 characters so much. Still, though, my love for these games concerned me greatly.

  • Dave The Diver
    Genre: Adventure, Simulation, Management

Cozy (?) game where you dive for fish and manage a sushi shop, with cozy in quotes because of the random boss fights. Good game, though I never got far.

  • Death And Taxes
    Genre: Simulation, Indie, Narrative

  • Death's Door
    Genre: Action-RPG, Indie

Very pretty graphics, but I don't remember much about this game unfortunately.

  • Deltarune: Chapter 1&2
    Genre: RPG, Narrative, Indie

  • Don't Starve Together
    Genre: Survival, Multiplayer, Indie

I've played DST so much with my parents and yet we have never gotten past the first year. Still a blast, though; I wish more people I knew liked this game.

  • Dragon Marked For Death
Genre: Action-RPG, Multiplayer, Hack 'n Slash

Another game I played mostly with family. It's a small side-scrollng action game to grind out for a weekend with friends, but it's not as fun to play solo.

  • Fall Guys
    Genre: Battle Royale, Party, Multiplayer

Only have this game because my cousin wanted to play it with me. I don't play this game willingly on my own.

  • God Eater 3
Genre: Action-RPG, Hack 'n Slash, Multiplayer

  • Hades
    Genre: Roguelike, Action RPG, Indie

Currently on my list of games to return to, I love this game so much (I keep dying, though, because I'm not an epic gamer).

  • Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix
    Genre: Rhythm, Music, Anime

I have a lot of hours on this game, which makes sense since I like rhythm games. While I am happy that there is finally a Project Diva game on a Nintendo console, the load times on this game could be... better. Still good, though.

  • Have A Nice Death
    Genre: Roguelike, Action, Indie

Amazing from the hour or so I have played. Currently on the priority backlog behind Hades and Cult of the Lamb.

  • Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes
    Genre: Puzzle, Multiplayer, Party

Absolutely 10/10 party game, would recommend. The hybrid of digital and physical media is really fun; I ended up going overboard and labelling the entire manual with cool sticky tabs (which could be cheating? but the aesthetic is always worth it)

  • Limbo
    Genre: Puzzle-Platformer, Indie, Thriller

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
    Genre: Racing, Party, Multiplayer

I don't think it's humanly possible to own a Nintendo console without owning its respective Mario Kart title.

  • Master Detective Archives: Rain Code
    Genre: Mystery, Adventure, Visual Novel

Got this game because I liked Danganronpa. Still on the backlog.

  • Minecraft Dungeons
    Genre: Action-RPG, Dungeon Crawler, Adventure

Beat the entire main campaign with my mom. To my surprise, I actually liked the original content and think there are a bunch of things that deserve to be added to base Minecraft.

  • Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
    Genre: Action-RPG, Hunting, Multiplayer

  • Monster Hunter Rise
    Genre: Action-RPG, Hunting, Multiplayer

I had a phase where this was all I would play, and I ended up mastering several classes and making nearly every armor set until Sunbreak. I currently have a Monster Hunter keychain on my keys because of MH Rise.

  • Monster Hunter Stories 2
    Genre: RPG, Turn-Based, Pokemon-esque

  • Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2
    Genre: Platform Fighter, Multiplayer, Party

[Insert obligatory "smash is better" argument here]

  • Okami HD
    Genre: Action-Adventure

Absolutely precious game, I love the art so much.

  • Overcooked 2
    Genre: Party, Simulation, Multiplayer

A go-to party game for when my extended family comes to visit (although I nearly always carry the entire room singlehandedly).

  • Overcooked All You Can Eat
    Genre: Party, Simulation, Multiplayer

Like Overcooked 2, but with content from both Overcooked 1 and 2 plus some original content. I'd say it's pretty defintive.

  • Persona 3 Portable
    Genre: RPG, Turn-Based, Narrative

  • Persona 5 Strikers
    Genre: Action-RPG, Hack 'n Slash

  • Pizza Tower
    Genre: 2D Platformer, Indie, Action

I just got this game for the first time and I can confidently say that Peppino Spaghetti would solo Sonic in a race no diff, 10/10

  • Pokemon Scarlet
    Genre: RPG, Adventure, Pokemon

  • Pokemon Sword
    Genre: RPG, Adventure, Pokemon

  • Pokemon Unite
    Genre: MOBA, Multiplayer

  • Portal
    Genre: Puzzle, Sci-fi

  • Portal 2
    Genre: Puzzle, Sci-fi

  • Pumpkin Jack
    Genre: Action-Adventure, 3D Platformer, Indie

  • Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: The Game
    Genre: Beat 'em Up, Multiplayer

The most indie-feeling non-indie game of all time. I have the collector's edition for this game (you can find some of the stickers from the collector's set on my PS Vita case).

  • Skullgirls: 2nd Encore
    Genre: Fighting, Anime, Multiplayer

  • Sonic Colors Ultimate
    Genre: 2D Platformer, Action-Adventure

...Okay, hear me out on this one. This might (might) not be the unforgivable disgrace that this Sonic community has deemed it to be. Sure, the graphics might be objectively worse than the original game on the Wii, the additions made are questionable at best, and the initial bugs and glitches could have been fatal. But hear me out. By the time I had gotten immersed into playing Sonic games, it was well after all of the life-saving patches were made, and most importantly, well after the Wii was being used. As someone who does not own a Wii in 2024 (someone remind me to redact this if I get a Wii post-2024), and who currently does not own a computer powerful enough to emulate Sonic Colors on Wii nor run the Porject Re-Rainbow mod (again, might have to redact this if I get a better computer and/or console), I can honestly and genuinely say that I have had a blast trying to 100% Sonic Colors Ultimate. This port/"remaster" allowed me to experience Sonic Colors, which I now love dearly, and isn't that the goal of a port? This isn't to say that critiques are Colors Ultimate are not valid, because they most certainly are, but the flaws in Colors Ultimate are not as catastrophic as they are often depicted.

  • Sonic Frontiers
Genre: 2D Platformer, Action-Adventure, Open World

Started playing this a month before the release of Sonic X Shadow Generations, currently trying to finish the game before that. So far, I can definitely understand the BOTW ripoff arguments, but the cyperspace and vocal tracks are certified bangers so I excuse all of those sins. Also, the story is really nice in my opinion.

  • Sonic Mania
    Genre: 2D Platformer, Action

If you were looking for your first Sonic game to try, look no further. The pixel art is crisp, the soundtrack slaps, the level design is meticulate, and the controls are without flaw. I'd call that a pretty definitive classic Sonic title if you ask me. The only mildly valid complaint I have heard about Mania is that it reuses old levels (nowadays, every single Sonic game commits this sin at least once), but this won't be an issue if, you know, it's your first Sonic game.

  • Sonic Origins
    Genre: 2D Platformer, Action

  • Sonic Superstars
    Genre: 2D Platformer, Action, Multiplayer

I wanted to love this, but the bosses and the bosses alone can suck all the joy out of this game. Besides that, the Emerald powers range from absolutely useless to downright broken, the only collectables (the medals) become obsolete quickly since the multiplayer servers in this game are dead, and the soundtrack is mid (the ultimate sin). 6/10 though, because I cannot disrespect [redacted for spoilers].

  • Speedrunners
    Genre: 2D Platformer, Party, Multiplayer

This is such a hidden gem of a party game, and I am shock I have yet to hear anyone else talk about it. Sure, it's a bit small in scale, but most party games are. The entire premise is to race against the other players through different platforming stages, as the screen border slowly shrinks. The camera follows whichever player is in the lead, so ultimately you must outplatform against your opponents in order to eliminate them. It's super simple, yet remains a test of pure mettle. Would recommend for quick friendly matches.

  • Splatoon 2
    Genre: Shooter, Multiplayer

One of my first Nintendo Switch games. I'm not much of a shooter fan, but I had a lot of fun with the singleplayer campaign. I ended up convincing my parents to get their own copies so we could play multiplayer together, and my mom ended up playing the game twice as much as I ever did.

  • Splatoon 3
    Genre: Shooter, Multiplayer

I was mildly disappointed in this one. I'm not sure if I was just tired of the Splatoon games in general, but Splatoon 3 just felt like I was booting up Splatoon 2 again, on the exact same console, yet for a shiny new price. At least Splatoon 2 moved the franchise onto Nintendo Switch for the first time... Who knows, maybe this is just me.

  • Stardew Valley
    Genre: Simulation, Farming, Casual

  • Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble
    Genre: Puzzle, Platformer, Party, Multiplayer

  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
    Genre: Platform Fighter, Multiplayer, Party

  • Team Sonic Racing
    Genre: Racing, Multiplayer, Party

I don't think I would ever see myself playing this game if it weren't included with my copy of Sonic Mania. Granted, the Switch port is arguably the worst way to experience TSR with the exclusion of the opening cutscene (heartbreaking), and perhaps more importantly, how much more buggy and low resolution the game is here. In my first hour of trying the game, the entire UI just disappeared and I had to navigate through invisible menus... fun. Despite all my complaining, though, I did get this game essentially for free and therefore went out of my way to unlock every single collectible in the game. I'm a hypocrite, I know.

  • The Escapists 2
    Genre: Strategy, Simulation, Multiplayer

I have singlehandedly made my entire extended and nuclear family sick and tired of The Escapists. I don't think I 100%'d the game, but I have beaten each map at least numerous times.

  • The Flame In The Flood
    Genre: Survival, Adventure, Indie

  • The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
    Genre: Action-Adventure, Open World, RPG

This is another one of those titles that feels like it's just included with any Nintendo Switch. It's Breath of the Wild, 10/10, moving on.

  • The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
    Genre: Action-Adventure, Open World, RPG

  • The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
    Genre: Adventure, Indie, Narrative

I adore the Stanley Parable with my heart; none of the endings ever get old. They achieve peak comedy and, of course, a perfect commentary on the state of the human condition (half joking). It's weirdly also a walking visual novel, if that makes sense? I don't know what I'm saying anymore, just go play the Stanley Parable.

  • Thomas Was Alone
    Genre: Puzzle-Platformer, Indie, Narrative

  • Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
    Genre: Adventure, Puzzle, Indie

Super short game, but I love the vibes and humor. I wish this precious little title had more longevity, but at least there is the sequel. Go commit tax evasion now (for legal reasons, that's a joke).

  • Turnip Boy Robs A Bank
    Genre: Action, Indie, Adventure

Manages to recapture everything its predecessor managed to be, and then some. A perfect sequel to the irreverent nature of the original game, whilst refining the combat and expanding the playtime and replay value. I also loved how they expanded on the bits of lore previous hinted towards in Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. Go rob a bank (for legal reasons, I mean in-game).

  • Umbraclaw
    Genre: Action-Adventure, Platformer, Indie

  • Undertale
    Genre: RPG, Indie, Adventure

Playing Undertale was a formative experience for me as a child, and with the deep and personal connection I have to Undertale, I don't think I could do it justice in a blurb. Go play Undertale now, and come back some time, because I might just make a dedicated shrine to this game.
